When I saw Mark O’Toole’s beautifully designed deck on Slideshare last month, I fell in love with his style. This month, as I go over “Congratulations Graduate!” again, I find myself liking the message – the content – even more than the design. Check out the deck here:
I love O’Toole’s storytelling, his hook, and his points: new graduates should work on a strong resume, prepare for all interviews, ask relevant questions, write a thank-you note, dress professionally, explain why they are the right candidate for the job, use social media appropriately/effectively, and more. These 11 tips are so important for my college students, and I would love to spend more time reinforcing the value of these in my Professional Communication and Presentation class.
